In the context of global change, the impact of human activities on the global environment and ecosystems continues to intensify. In response to this, the field of global change ecology has emerged. It characterized by its intersection of macro and micro perspectives and interdisciplinary integration. Understanding ecosystems' responses to global change and their mechanisms is crucial for addressing climate change, biodiversity conservation, ecological civilization construction, carbon peaking, carbon neutrality, and other major national strategic needs.
To promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication in the field of global change ecology, and to advance high-level research in this area in China, Institute of Carbon Neutrality at Peking University decides to host the first "Frontier Forum on Global Change Ecology" from September 19 to 22, 2024, in Beijing.
The theme of this conference is "Global Change Ecology towards Carbon Neutrality." Renowned experts and outstanding young scholars in the field of global change ecology from around the world will be invited to give talks and special sessions. Editors-in-Chief and relevant editorial board members of the journal "Global Change Biology" will also be invited to present academic reports.
The committee sincerely invites experts, scholars, and graduate students from universities, research institutes, and enterprises both domestically and internationally to participate in this forum. Together, we will discuss the latest research progress in directions such as ecosystem responses and adaptation to global change, ecosystem carbon and nitrogen cycling, ecohydrological processes, biodiversity evolution, and explore new ideas, phenomena, methods, and applications at the forefront of global change ecology research.
We look forward to meeting you in Beijing!
